The locations
Covering 11,000 square metres of exhibition space, Porzellanikon in Selb and Hohenberg a. d. Eger is Europe’s biggest porcelain museum. Four museums at two locations dedicated to the subject of porcelain are situated here at the centre of the Bavarian porcelain industry, where more than 60% of European porcelain is still manufactured today. Porzellanikon is Bavaria’s first industrial museum and is a member of the
Industrial Heritage Route. It also houses the Central Archive for the German Porcelain Industry, a specialist library containing 15,000 publications and some 150,000 porcelain pieces.
