300 years in one day
Day excursion to “From a King’s Dream to Mass Production”
The day begins in Hohenberg a.d. Eger with a visit to the anniversary exhibition, Part 1. In the villa that used to be the home of a Hutschenreuther director and which today houses the German Porcelain Museum at Porzellanikon, the earliest days of European porcelain are brought back to life, coming right up to Art Déco. An interesting guided tour takes the visitor through the great eras of past centuries.
Transfer to Selb, with the opportunity to enjoy a lunch-time snack. A glass partition is all that separates diners at the “Altes Brennhaus” from Porzellanikon exhibits. Here, in Part 2 of the anniversary exhibition, porcelain’s qualities as an all-rounder are shown in stunning dimensions: from technical finesse in private bathrooms through to research projects and amazing visions of the future.
Visitors will then have the opportunity to browse through factory sales outlets, in search of their favourite porcelain.
A visit to the anniversary exhibition can be easily combined with other special arrangements offered by Porzellanikon and those available in the surrounding area.
